We mist decades-old texture with a fine garden sprayer — the right saturation unlocks the bond without soaking drywall underneath.
A wide floor scraper pulls the loosened texture in long, clean strokes. It falls in sheets — satisfying and fast on a good soak.
Bare drywall needs a skim coat — a thin layer of joint compound that fills every gouge, seam, and imperfection left by the scraper.
PVA primer seals the fresh compound and equalizes the porosity so paint lays flat. Skip this and the paint will flash — we never skip it.
Flat ceiling paint in your chosen white — rolled in two passes for an even, matte finish that makes the room feel taller and quieter.
